Pray the Sinners Prayer
Heavenly Father, I recognize that I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from you. I repent from all of my sins and confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I believe with all my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus died for my sins, and on the third day, God the Father raised Him from the dead. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and change my life! In Jesus name, Amen.”
Repenting for holding onto offenses against me
I started out by writing down a list every person I could think of that has really hurt me. One by one, I went down the list and repented to God for my holding onto anything against them – any feeling of resent, grudge, hurt, anger, hate, or ill-will. Repent, then ask forgiveness for holding onto. *It’s important to evaluate ourselves and clean our own house first. This is the initial step to disarm the enemy and release ourselves from accusation of the Accuser of the Brethren who seeks to build a case against us in order to exercise his legal rights to gain a foothold, which leads to strongholds of oppression, obsession, and possession.
Forgiveness of others offenses against me
Then, I asked God to forgive others for how they hurt, offended, or betrayed me, asking Him to not hold anything against them, and furthermore, to bless them. *Talk about disarming the enemy! Once we have released ourselves accordingly from giving the accuser legal rights, this removes the barrier that prevents our loving, but just God from legally forgiving us if we cannot follow His own example to forgive. He did the hard part, giving His ALL – pouring Himself out completely in walking out the ultimate expression of love. He intentionally forgave us first to open the door to reconciliation if we so choose, as He can’t stand separation from us!
Repenting for my offenses against others
Next, I wrote another list of any offense that I’ve done against others – to confess each one, repent and turn from, and ask forgiveness for (doing my best to remember the individuals names or at least the incident). Yes, He already knows about every offense. But He is a relational God and desires a personal relationship with us. And, though He paid the price and forgave us 2000 years ago, we still acknowledge out of respect and follow this process because every offense is also against Him, our Heavenly Father. Surprisingly, this list was even longer then the first list of offenses done to me! This act of brutal honesty was eye opening and made me realize I need as much saving as anyone else!
Create a list to repent and renounce spirits associated
For my deliverance, I made a list of my own sins, and also included any known sins of my parents and grandparents that possibly gave entryway to the spirits to legally enter my life, in order to identify each. As follows: Spirit of Fear, Spirit of Anger, Spirit of Unforgiveness, Spirit of Abandonment, Spirit of Offense, Word Cursing, Doubt, Complacency, Presumptuousness, Anxiety, Bitterness, Loneliness, Depression, Rage, Hate, Self Harm, Lust of the eyes (materialism), Passiveness, Worthlessness, Double-mindedness, Lies, Fornication, Lust, Lasciviousness, Adultery, Abortion, Idolatry, Rebellion, Pride, Addiction, Sexual Abuse, Pornography, Sexual perversion (identify it specifically), Alcohol and drug addiction. Renounce the spirits of Incubus and Succubus if that applies, spirit of sleep paralysis, and generational curses. Renounce spirits associated with forms of witchcraft, (even if only entertained once): Tarot, Astrology, Horoscope, Fortune Telling, Divination, Sorcery, Soothsayer, Spiritism, Ouija Board, Hypnotism, New Age, Yoga, Astral Projection, Reincarnation, Magic, and Necromancy ect.
Example of prayer in preparation to fully renounce and command spirits to leave
Heavenly Father, In Jesus name, I repent from every thought, word, or action made consciously or unconsciously which dishonored you Lord God, and of which gave the devil legal rights to my life. I ask your forgiveness, and I ask you to cleanse and deliver me from evil strongholds! I renounce all of Satan’s activities in my life that came because of my parents, grandparents, or of my own iniquity and transgressions, and I renounce the devil, the demons, his works, his influence in my life, the strongholds against me, and all oppressions, curses, and sickness associated that are present in my life. Heavenly Father, I ask for total deliverance because I believe that Jesus’ death and resurrection makes my deliverance possible and sure! I ask that You become the Lord of my entire life and ask that your Holy Spirit take over every vacant area left open in my life, in Jesus mighty name, Amen.”
Authoritative prayer to identify spirits, renounce, command
Being the legal rights of certain spirits have been broken off in proper order, I went down the list of sins in Step 5 and renounced (in bulk at once, identifying each by name, for example: spirit of ____, spirit of____, spirit of____) and commanded the spirits to leave, exercising authority in Jesus name to do so. “By the power of the Blood of Jesus, I renounce the spirits of _____ . In Jesus name, I command you to take your hands off of me and I bind you, and order you to get out of my life!! Be cast to the dry places for which have been designated, and nothing else be sent in your place!! In Jesus name, Amen!”
